Phil Jasner of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that Derrick Coleman has opted for knee surgery.

After hobbling on a bad knee for most of the season, Coleman will undergo surgery to correct the problem on Tuesday in New York. The procedure is expected to be done by Dr. Russell Warren, an orthopedic specialist who is affiliated with the NFL's New York Giants. Coleman , who has only one season remaining on his contract, should be ready for training camp in October.
