Billy King said that negotiations with agent Rob Pelinka on a contract extension for Andre Iguodala remain ongoing and will continue to the Oct. 31 deadline.

If they cannot reach agreement, league rules dictate that they will have to wait until July 1 to resume talks. At that point, the Sixers will have a right of first refusal on any offer to Iguodala from another team.

"There have been a lot of situations where guys have gone into a contract year and had their best seasons," King said.
