The Magic will not get veteran Tony Battie back for the postseason, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

After considering a late-season return, Battie decided on Tuesday that he will not return to the court this season.

He had rotator cuff surgery in late October, ending his season and began talking about a possible return back in March.

"We flirted with the idea, let him crank up his workouts, but at the end of the day, it's just not in our best interest, his best interest, to play this season," GM Otis Smith said. "His shoulder is healed, but he's not 100 percent. We have to think long term."
