Donnie Walsh is busy trying to make the Knicks a competitive team in the Eastern Conference, but he keeps an eye on the Pacers, as well.

"Obviously, the Knicks are my top priority because this is the team I'm with, but next on the list is the Pacers because I want to see them do well," Walsh said earlier this week. "I talk to people there still, but I call them up personally most of the time. It's not basketball conversations."

Walsh spent 24 years with Indiana and is impressed with what Larry Bird has done with the Pacers.

"I'll be honest: I think they've got a good team, and I know they're losing a lot of close games, but I don't think it'll continue," Walsh said. "I really do think he's done a great job with the roster. It'll get better and better as it goes on."
