Heat guard Dwyane Wade has pledged his charitable commitment to South Florida beyond next summer.

Wade can opt out of his contract with Miami on July, 1, 2010.

On Thursday, Wade joined Alonzo Mourning to announce that Zo's Summer Groove, the center's annual charity function, will now be known as "The Summer Groove, hosted by Zo and D. Wade."

Wade's comments in the wake of the announcement were taken by many as a commitment to Miami.

"I would hope," Wade said, "we would continue to do this for a long, long time together, and it will always be the Summer Groove hosted by Zo and D. Wade."

He also reaffirmed his stance on remaining with the Heat.

"I've said this since Day 1 and I will continue to say it, this is where I want to be," Wade added. "My main thing, and I will continue to say it, would be winning. I want to get to the point where I know that every year we're going to be competitive and we're going to win.

"I'm not the guy who wants to lead the league in scoring every year. I'm the guy that wants people to come down here and be a part of something that can be great and win championships."
