The Pacers and Celtics have been trying to work out a sign-and-trade for Marquis Daniels, but a source told the Indianapolis Star that a deal is unlikely.
Daniels agreed to join Boston last month, and is expected to sign with the Celtics for the biannual exception.
The clubs have been looking for a third team to facilitate a trade, but haven't had any luck.
