Kobe Bryant had his right knee drained sometime between the end of the Utah series and the previous weekend, confirmed Phil Jackson.
"It happened some time ago," said Jackson, declining to give a specific date.
Jackson categorized the procedure as "not unusual," though he also added he can't recall Bryant having the procedure done more than one or two other times.
Bryant's knee did not appear to bother him during pre-game warmups before the start of Game 1.
