The Cavaliers and Bobcats have discussed a trade that would send Gerald Wallace to Cleveland, according to a league source.

Cleveland would use their trade exception to acquire Wallace, but they have also pushed for a lottery-protected first-round pick for them to take on the two years and $22 million left on the forward's contract.

Nothing is imminent as the Cavaliers have until July 10 to use the $14.5 million trade exception created when they completed a sign-and-trade with the Heat for LeBron James.

The Cavaliers are in the midst of an 11-game losing streak and have an NBA-worst 8-30 record.
