George Karl has thought about convincing Carmelo Anthony to stay in Denver in the wake of New Jersey's decision not to pursue the forward in a trade.

However, the team's schedule has prevented any action from the coach.

"The process of playing four games in six nights, and you play so many games in the month of January, the opportunity to be a salesperson probably shouldn't be ... I shouldn't be wearing that hat," Karl said. "Now, if that could be worked out, I would love to have that conversation."

With a little more than a month to go before the Feb. 24 trade deadline, Karl would love to sit down with Anthony and his support group.

"I would love to have the opportunity to talk to Melo about this," Karl said. "But what I'd like to do is talk to all his people. I want to know who's advising him on these other things."
