Kobe Bryant has begun to run aggressively as he returns from a torn Achilles tendon.

Bryant previously told reporters that he would need three weeks of "rigorous conditioning" before declaring himself ready.

"I think this is a good start," Bryant said. "This week was a good start. I was able to run and run pretty well, so I would probably count this week."

Bryant "scaled back" his workouts after the Los Angeles Lakers returned from a preseason trip to China.

"I'm running a little bit more, a little bit more aggressively," Bryant said. "It feels fine."

Bryant is sprinting on both flat surfaces and an altered-gravity treadmill when he is at the team's practice facility.
