Sarr sustained the injury on a contact play during an offseason workout last week.

Franz Wagner Training For Better Health Next Season

Jun 14, 2026 11:00 AM

In a recent interview with HoopsHype, Orlando Magic wing Franz Wagner touched on several topics, most of them surrounding his health. Wagner admitted that he had some missteps with managing his health last season. He also said he's training to be healthier for next season.

Wagner said that in retrospect, he should have passed on playing in the NBA Berlin Game last season while recovering from a high ankle sprain.

"The way it went, I probably shouldn't have played. Everybody understands the situation that it was, and honestly, I hate to say it, but I don't really regret the decision to play. It was that special of a moment for me, and for a lot of other people who were there," Wagner said. "So, it just happened to be a bad moment in time, probably, but maybe some people hate me for this, but it was a really special moment for my family and me. So, I was happy that I got the chance to at least be out there."

Wagner said he's focused on getting fully recovered from last season's injuries. Then he'll turn to training with eyes on avoiding injuries next season.

"It's rehabbing first of all, the injuries that I did have, and then sort of addressing some of the patterns, maybe why injuries keep coming up," Wagner said. "That's the goal: that you're not hurt at all, and not just treating symptoms when they come up, but taking preventive measures. I have a great amount of time now in the summer to do some of that."

Wagner said that he and his teammates are excited about new head coach Sean Sweeney. The Magic wing also said that the team needs to build on the lessons they've learned in the last three playoff appearances to advance further in the playoffs next year.

Nikola Topic To Be Ready For Training Camp Following Back Procedure

Jun 13, 2026 8:06 PM

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Nikola Topic recently underwent a minimally invasive lumbar microdiscectomy procedure. The Thunder say that Topic is expected to be ready in time for training camp ahead of next season.

Topic's run of bad luck with injuries and illnesses continued with this surgery. The young guard missed his rookie season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft. Then, Topic was diagnosed with testicular cancer in the early stages of this season.

While Topic has played minimal NBA minutes, he was solid in the G League while ramping up this season. The 6-foot-6 point guard averaged 18.4 points, 7.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 28 minutes per game over 13 G League appearances.

Jalen Williams Could Return To Thunder For Finals

May 30, 2026 9:28 PM

Jalen Williams could return to the Oklahoma City Thunder lineup should they advance to the NBA Finals, according to head coach Mark Daigneault.

Williams was ruled out for Game 7 due to a left hamstring injury.

"He's feeling about the same as he did," Daigneault said before Game 7. "He actually came out of the game pretty good for where he is in a normal rehab. Depending on what happens tonight, if we're fortunate enough to win and advance, he'll continue this rehab, and we'll take the same process as we go forward."

Kyrie Irving Says He's 'Close' To 100% In Recovering From ACL Injury

May 30, 2026 4:05 PM

Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving said on his Twitch stream that he was "close" to being 100% as he recovers from a torn ACL.

“I am definitely close to being over at 100 percent in terms of my ACL recovery,” Irving said.

“It’s been a while now…I’m so grateful that I’ve had the time to heal and just experiment with my body more on the court and off the court in the weight room and just pushing myself to the limit.”

Irving has been out since suffering the injury in March 2025.

It has been reported that the Mavs are likely to receive trade interest in Irving this offseason, though new Mavs president Masai Ujiri also said he wants to see how Irving fits with Cooper Flagg.

Jalen Williams, Ajay Mitchell Ruled Out By Thunder For Game 7

May 29, 2026 9:22 PM

Jalen Williams has been ruled out of Game 7 by the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a left hamstring injury. Williams returned to the Oklahoma City lineup for Game 6, but played just 10 minutes in their loss at the San Antonio Spurs.

Williams missed the final two games of the first round, the entire second round before returning for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Williams aggravated the injury in Game 2 and missed the next three games.

“He’s been hellbent on trying to get himself to this point. I give him credit. He’s a big team guy, big competitor,” Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said of Williams after Game 6. “He’s obviously not 100 percent. He didn’t know what to expect; I didn’t know what to expect. So it was a matter of getting him out there in an insulated role and see what he could bring to the team. … He hasn’t done a full return to play the way that he would.”

Williams played in just 33 regular season games as he recovered from offseason wrist surgery along with a right hamstring injury.

Ajay Mitchell has also been ruled for Game 7 with a right calf strain.
