The Cleveland Cavaliers did not receive a commitment from LeBron James before moving forward with their trade for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

The deal adds $28 million to the Cavaliers' future cap while also relinquishing a first round pick.

While James could become a free agent this offseason, he said this week that he was not willing to waive his no-trade clause.

Chris Haynes reports that the Cavaliers' front office never approached James about waiving his no-trade clause.
