The Washington Wizards pursued Masai Ujiri to become their president of basketball operations with an offer of approximately $10 million per season. Ujiri, however, will remain with the Toronto Raptors.

"There is no doubt they wanted Masai Ujiri and went after Masai Ujiri, but it's not going to work out for them so they're moving on," said Brian Windhorst.

The Raptors would have sought significant compensation from the Wizards to release Ujiri from his deal.

Washington previously pursued Tim Connelly as well.

Tommy Sheppard is running the Wizards on an interim basis and is a candidate for the job.
