The Los Angeles Lakers have at least some interest in signing D'Angelo Russell in free agency, according to sources that spoke with ESPN's Zach Lowe.

The Lakers traded Russell to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 in order to clear the contract of Timofey Mozgov.

Russell also wasn't well-liked by Magic Johnson and had personal issues while with the Lakers. The Lakers also traded him to make room for Lonzo Ball, who has since been traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Adrian Wojnarowski echoed the interest from the Lakers that was reported by Lowe.

"It's a legitimate scenario," said Wojnarowski.
