James Harden has indicated to the Houston Rockets he would be willing to accept a trade to a contending team beyond the Brooklyn Nets, which includes the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harden's preference has been to join Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving with the Nets.

The Rockets and the Sixers have had no substantive talks about a potential Harden deal. Daryl Morey is believed to have no interest in breaking up his duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Harden has two seasons remaining on his deal and teams would be reluctant to give up assets without confidence he is interested in remaining with that team long-term.
