The Golden State Warriors are unlikely to trade for Ben Simmons this offseason due to the exorbitant price tag set by the Philadelphia 76ers, a source told the San Francisco Chronicle.

While Simmons is the only star player ostensibly available, the fit of Simmons alongside Draymond Green would be problematic.

The Warriors would prefer a player like Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard, but their incumbent teams are not believed to be making either of them available.

Stephen Curry, Green and Klay Thompson have stressed the need for the Warriors to improve the roster around them this offseason as all three are in their early 30s.
