The Los Angeles Lakers and D'Angelo Russell are trending towards an agreement in free agency, reports Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. 

The early indications are that Russell and the Lakers could come to terms on a two-year, $40 million deal with he second year as a team option or non-guaranteed. 

The Lakers traded for Russell at the deadline from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Russell raises the Lakers' floor during the regular season, but he struggled at times in the playoffs.
