The Toronto Raptors accused the New York Knicks of dragging out its lawsuit against the team "as long as possible because this lawsuit attracts publicity and is directed at harming the Raptors" in a court filing on Monday.

The Knicks originally sued the Raptors in the offseason alleging that a former employee of the Knicks took thousands of proprietary files with him to Toronto.

The Raptors also stated that once the dispute is resolved, the defendants, including head coach Darko Rajakovic, reserve the right to countersue the Knicks for defamation.

The Raptors also asked the U.S. District Court in Manhattan to compel arbitration by Adam Silver and dismiss the Knicks' claims.
