NEW YORK (AP) Vin Baker's grievance against the NBA was delayed Wednesday when a conference call with an arbitrator was put off for one day.

Baker is seeking an immediate judgment from arbitrator Roger Kaplan freeing him to sign with the team of his choice. The NBA has issued a memo to all 29 teams barring them from signing Baker until his arbitration case against the Boston Celtics is settled.

The New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat are interested in Baker, according to his agent.

The union filed a grievance on Baker's behalf last month after the Celtics terminated the final 2{ seasons of his contract for missing 10 games while on suspension for violating terms of his alcohol treatment program. Baker was due to make $35 million.

The NBA explained that it issued the Baker memo because if he wins his arbitration case, his contract would be reinstated and he'd return to the Celtics.
