Monday's Celtic session represented the first time Boston center Theo Ratliff had participated in practice in two weeks.

But during that time, the Boston Globe is reporting, he was still busy. Ratliff devoted himself to rehabilitating the bad back he somehow had avoided during 677 NBA battles in the paint.

"I've never had anything like it," said Ratliff, who has lost time to wrist and hip ailments in the past. "It's for the long term, not the short."

"There was some fatigue," said Ratliff, having spent an extra half-hour working on his post moves after coach Doc Rivers blew the practice adjournment whistle. "But at least I was able to move around."
