It appears as though Danny Ferry has patched up his rocky relationship with agent Dan Fegan due to how well the signing of Joe Smith was handled.

The working relationship became troublesome due to the contract negotiations between the Cavaliers and restricted free agent Anderson Varejao during the summer of 2007.

Ferry spent some time with Fegan last summer in Los Angeles and mended the relationship.

Varejao is expected to opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

"It is a good sign, for sure," Varejao said. "Now that Joe's here, it shows they'd had some good conversations. It could be better, but I don't want to think about it at all right now."
