The New Orleans Pelicans expressed interest in trading for De'Aaron Fox, but were unsuccessful in finding a workable deal with the Sacramento Kings before they pivoted to their deal for CJ McCollum.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported the interest of the Pelicans in Fox during Tuesday's NBA Today telecast.

The Kings instead shifted to a trade of Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers for Domantas Sabonis.

Fox is in Year 1 of a five-year, $163 million deal.
