Marina Mabrey tied the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points as the Toronto Tempo defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 125-97 on Thursday night.
Mabry shot 17-of-28 from the field, and also tied a WNBA record with nine three-pointers.
"I think tonight was just my night from the 3-point line and from honestly everywhere. It was all going in," Mabrey said with a laugh. "And then the fans, to have them chanting 'MVP,' I don't know that I ever imagined that. But it was really a good feeling."
Mabry has also scored 113 points over the last three games, setting a record for the most points over a three-game span.
"I've been doing this for quite some time," Tempo coach Sandy Brondello said. "I've never seen that -- even Diana Taurasi, and she could shoot it really well. I mean, to witness that was amazing."
Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston leads teammate Caitlin Clark in the second fan vote returns for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, the league announced Wednesday. The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 25 at the United Center in Chicago and will air on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Boston has collected 683,996 votes, with Clark close behind at 670,510. Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson sits third at 659,057, followed by Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (640,026) and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart (566,161).
Boston is averaging 16.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season. Clark ranks third in the WNBA in scoring at 21.3 points per game and second in assists at 8.2 per contest. Wilson leads the league in both scoring (25.1 PPG) and blocks (2.1 BPG).
The remainder of the top 10 includes Wings forward Jessica Shepard (477,066), Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese (470,748), Golden State Valkyries guard Gabby Williams (451,450), Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell (434,471) and Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles (397,080).
Fan votes account for 50 percent of the overall selection process, with current players and a media panel each contributing 25 percent. The four guards and six frontcourt players with the strongest combined scores will earn starting spots. Head coaches will then select 12 reserves, voting for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position, excluding their own roster.
