The Minnesota Lynx handed the Dallas Wings a 100-76 defeat Tuesday, with rookie Olivia Miles delivering a dominant performance that renewed debate over Dallas' decision to select Azzi Fudd with the No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft over Olivia Miles at No. 2.
Miles finished with 24 points, six assists and seven rebounds in her first professional meeting with Fudd. She shot 6 of 7 inside the arc and attacked Fudd repeatedly in the opening quarter, forcing a tie-up, converting a drive past her and recording a block.
"She's special," said Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve. "We've had, obviously, good teams, legendary teams, but it's a different time now. And there's an awareness — I'm hearing from people talking about our team, obviously talking about the rookie — that is palpable."
Fudd, a former UConn national champion, was tasked with defending Minnesota's top perimeter threat while receiving fewer offensive opportunities. She did not convert her first basket until the third quarter and finished with six points.
"(Fudd)'s a great player, she deserved to go No. 1," said Miles. "She's a brilliant shooter, one of the best we've ever seen in the game, but obviously, against any team, I love to compete."
The result widened the gap between the two franchises. Minnesota improved to 10-2 and holds a point differential of plus-12.9, compared to Dallas at plus-3.7.
"I love the matchups, Dallas has great guards," Miles said. "It's always fun to play against someone who's in your class and we've been competing since we were young."
Miles ranks fifth in the WNBA in PER at 25.2 compared to 68th for Fudd at 15.5.
