Emoni Bates and Cleveland Charge teammate Gabe Osabuohien were suspended for two games for entering the stands following a road loss to the Birmingham Squadron.

Both players are suspended without pay.

Bates is signed with the Cavs on a two-way contract. 

Scotty Pippen Jr. has agreed on a two-year, Two-Way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. 

Pippen previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers and South Bay Lakers after going undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2022.

The NBA G League announced that Skyforce guard Alondes Williams has been named NBA G League Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 2 – Jan. 7. 

Williams broke the Skyforce franchise record for points in a game, with 55 on 21-30 FGA on Sunday in a 138-130 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars. His performance was just the third game in NBA G League history of 55-plus points on 70-or-higher percent shooting from the field.

He averaged 32.7 points on 62.9 percent shooting (13/20.7 FGA), 38.8 percent from deep (2.3/6 3PA), 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and plus-34 plus-minus in three games, where Sioux Falls went 3-0.

Birmingham Squadron forward Landers Nolley II has been suspended for five games for violating the NBA G League’s anti-gambling rules.

The rule violation by Nolley did not relate to gambling on any NBA G League games.

Nolley will begin serving his five-game suspension on Thursday, January 11 when the Squadron visit the Memphis Hustle at Landers Center in Southaven, Miss.

The Utah Jazz have agreed to a two-way contract with guard Jason Preston. The Jazz opened a two-way roster spot when they waived guard Josh Christopher on Monday.

Preston spent his first two NBA seasons with the LA Clippers, before being waived this offseason. The 6-foot-3 point guard has played for the Memphis Hustle of the G League this season.

In 17 G League games, Preston has averaged 12.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Skylar Mays to a two-way contract.

Mays (6’4”, 205) joins the Lakers from the Portland Trail Blazers, where he appeared in 21 games (five starts) this season, averaging 6.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 17.0 minutes. 

The 26-year-old was selected with the 50th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Hawks following four collegiate seasons (2016-20) at LSU. Mays was named First-Team All-SEC as a senior and Second-Team All-SEC as a junior with the Tigers.

Mays was recently waived by the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Milwaukee Bucks waive Marques Bolden and Lindell Wigginton from their two-way contracts. All NBA contracts became fully guaranteed if players were not waived by Sunday.

Bolden appeared in two NBA games for the Bucks this season. In 16 games with the Wisconsin Herd of the G League, the center averaged 13.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.

Wigginton appeared in three NBA games this season, in his third year with the Bucks. In 10 games with the Herd, the combo guard averaged 19.8 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Milwaukee now has two open two-way roster spots.

Washington Wizards Two-Way player Jared Butler was named G League Player of the Week for the week of December 27 – January 1.

Butler averaged 28.0 points, 12.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting .553 from the field and .692 from three-point range during the week, leading the Go-Go to back-to-back wins at home while securing back-to-back double-double performances.

The New York Knicks waived center Dmytro Skapintsev. New York had signed Skapintsev to a two-way contract when they were lacking depth at the center position.

Skapintsev appeared in two NBA games for the Knicks. New York added Precious Achiuwa in their trade with the Toronto Raptors last week. In addition, Jericho Sims has returned from a sprained ankle.

Skapintsev is returning to the Westchester Knicks of the G League.
