Players have the right to withdraw no later than June 17 ahead of the June 27 draft in Brooklyn.

Jamaal Franklin plans to sign with an agent and put his name in the June draft, forgoing his final season of eligibility at San Diego State.

Franklin, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 33.1 minutes per game and led the Aztecs in scoring (17.0), rebounding (9.5), assists (3.3) and steals (1.6).

Franklin was the only Division I player in the country to lead his team in all four categories.

Steve Fisher refuted a report that indicated Jamaal Franklin will forgo his senior season at San Diego State and enter the NBA draft.

“I’m disappointed that people wouldn’t be more respectful to call me or talk directly to Jamaal,” Fisher said. “I have talked repeatedly with Jamaal over the past few weeks. We talked earlier today. I talked to him 20 minutes ago. And he hasn’t made any decision.

“I’m continuing to gather information to help him make an educated decision. But he hasn’t made a decision. I’m sure of that.”

Franklin has been projected by some scouts as a mid-to-late first round pick.

New Mexico's Kendall Williams has been named the 2013 Mountain West Player of the Year.

Williams was joined on the All-Conference First Team by UNLV's Anthony Bennett, San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin, Colorado State's Colton Iverson and Michael Lyons of Air Force.

Bennett was also named Freshman of the Year, while teammate Khem Birch won Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The thirty candidates for Naismith Men's College Player of the Year were announced on Tuesday.

Isaac Hamilton committed to Texas-El Paso on Friday.

Hamilton, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Los Angeles, is ranked as the No. 25 recruit of the 2013 class.

Hamilton picked UTEP over UCLA, UNLV and San Diego State.

Hamilton is the younger brother of Jordan Hamilton.

The 2012-13 Naismith early season watch list was released on Wednesday.

D’Erryl Williams II made an oral commitment to San Diego State while on an official recruiting visit, which ended Saturday.

“This is a Top 25 program,” said D’Erryl Williams Sr., his father. “D’s dream is to play in a Final Four. In order to do that, you have to play with a group of players and coach who has assembled something that allows you to do that. And that’s now in play for him.”

Williams is a teammate of four-star recruit Dakarai Allen, who committed to the Aztecs last month.

Williams and Allen have played together since 7th grade and talked openly about continuing that in college.

“I told them it was a great dream but a far-fetched dream,” Williams Sr. said. “I’m never going to tell my kid or anyone else that they shouldn’t have a dream. It’s empowering to have dreams. But I told them the likelihood of it happening is very slim, because there are just so many factors in choosing a college.

“But it happened.”
