Compared with previous tournaments, EuroBasket 2013 will be a weaker competition in terms of talent, as a lot of stars for various reasons won't suit up for the championship. Pau Gasol, Andrei Kirilenko, Dirk Nowitzki and many more have announced their absence.

With less than a month remaining until the start of the competition, RealGM presents EuroBasket 2013 Power Rankings, where we have ranked all participating national teams from one to 24.

1. Spain

Despite all the losses that were suffered this summer, Spain remains the most talented team of EuroBasket 2013. Losses are not that painful when you still have three NBA players and four Euroleague Final Four participants on your roster.

2. Lithuania

At the moment, Lithuania has a lot of questions to answer. Nobody knows how Martynas Pocius, Linas Kleiza, Donatas Motiejūnas will look and EuroBasket 2013 will be a place to set the value for most players.

3. Greece

Greece has entered a golden age by winning Euroleague for the third consecutive year, while at the same time Vassilis Spanoulis and Nick Calathes won MVP trophies in Euroleague and Eurocup. However, it's still unclear what the final roster of Greece might look like, but Greece is a strong candidate to step on the podium despite all the losses.

4. France

Having Tony Parker, one of the best point guard in the world, expectations are always sky high. Together with Nicolas Batum and Boris Diaw, Parker can lead France to another Final Four, but the lack of strength under the basket should kill French hopes to repeat their recent success.

5. Turkey

When you have three NBA guys over 6-foot-10 on your roster, it is realistic to achieve the best result in last ten years and finish higher than seventh place at the European championship.

6. Croatia

Croatia, which finished sixth twice in last three European championships, is capable to be among Top 6 team in EuroBasket 2013 as well. Croatia had the most Euroleague players among European countries this season and their junior teams win medals every summer. The time has come to use these talents and fight for the medals.

7. Slovenia

All the hype that surrounded Slovenia is slowly disappearing as it's clear that some of the key players will be missing. Without them, it's going to be very difficult to fight for a medal - the first ever for Slovenia.

8. Montenegro

One of the very first teams to start preparation for EuroBasket 2013, Montenegro is looking to rebound from a lamentable performance at EuroBasket 2011. Ranking at the bottom with Portugal, Latvia and Belgium is definitely not what Montenegro, even without Nikola Pekovic, expect.

9. Italy

Italian basketball has been struggling for a while, but at this championship, Italy will have a great chance to finish the tournament with a win-loss record over .500 percent for a long time.

10. Serbia

I have already previously talked about Serbian basketball problems, but since then, one thing remained the same. Since becoming an independent country in 2006, Serbia, once the most powerful country in European basketball, won one only one medal, silver at 2009 EuroBasket.

11. Russia

Talent wise, if a team with most losses was chosen, Russia would be an absolute winner. Andrei Kirilenko, Viktor Chriapa, Sasha Kaun, Timofey Mozgov - the four biggest Russian basketball stars won't play in Slovenia, limiting Russia's chances to win medals to the minimum.

12. Germany

Young and balanced, Germany is capable of winning a couple games and get out of the group. If NBA summer league sensation Dennis Schroder and fellow future NBA player Elias Harris have joined the team, Germany would have been the most interesting team at this tournament.

13. Poland

It seems that Dirk Bauermann will be able to gather all the best Polish players together. Marcin Gortat, Thomas Kelati and Maciej Lampe, who had a very successful second part of the season - together with young players, Poland is a strong candidate to move to the second round.

14. Israel

Israel has been dreaming about quarterfinals, but for now, those dreams seem to be far from reality. Two of most important players, Omri Casspi and Lior Eliyahu, both had poor seasons and that doesn't promise anything good for Israel.

15. F.Y.R. of Macedonia

One-man team, F.Y.R. of Macedonia won't be an underdog anymore at EuroBasket 2013, hence repeating previous performance, even in a weaker competition, will be an unachievable challenge.

16. Finland

Last championship's sensation, Finland might shake things up again by winning a game or two. However, in next couple years Finland should drop to the bottom of the rankings as all their junior teams compete in European championship division B.

17. Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the right set of circumstances and Mirza Teletovic making impossible shots, it's still hardly possible to see Bosnia and Herzegovina getting a ticket to the second round.

18. Sweden

Sweden, which will participate at EuroBasket for the first time since 2003, will have on its squad one of the main candidates to win a scoring MVP title, Jonas Jerebko. The 26-year-old forward, who averaged 20.3 points throughout the qualification tournament, is capable of leading Sweden to first EuroBasket win since 1993.

19. Georgia

Without NBA players, Zaza Pachulia and Tornike Shengelia, Georgia's odds got worse. However, by the luck of the draw (Georgia will face Poland and Czech Republic), Georgians still hold a chance to get through.

20. Latvia

Once again, Latvia failed to bring all the best players together, who could carry Latvia further than the first round. Same as two years ago, Latvia is a strong candidate to become one of the four worst teams at EuroBasket 2013.

21. Ukraine

If the NBA coaching staff that led Ukraine wasn't able to get out of the group stage in EuroBasket 2011, Ukraine's chances in 2013 are more than limited without that level of coaching.

22. Czech Republic

For one of the most talented players in Europe, Jan Vesely, the NBA debut was a struggle. EuroBasket 2013 will be a great opportunity for Vesely, who averaged only 2.5 points per game last season, to revive his personal career.

23. Great Britain

Great Britain's basketball bubble is about to burst. All the high expectations that surrounded Great Britain before London Olympics has disappeared as key players - Joel Freeland and Luol Deng - won't help the team at EuroBasket 2013. Without Freeland and Deng, the second round becomes a mission impossible for Great Britain.

24. Belgium

You cannot expect much when only three of your players play in elite European leagues. A single win would make this EuroBasket a success for Belgium.
