Veteran point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has been waived by the Wisconsin Herd of the G League. Smith is now a free agent and hopeful of catching on with another G League team.

Smith appeared in 11 games for the Herd this season. He averaged 8.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Smith shot just 35.7% from the field, including 25% on three-pointers.

The seven-year veteran last played in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2023-24 season. Smith has also played for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. He was also briefly with Real Madrid Spain during the 2024-25 season.
