Magic Johnson would like another shot at coaching in the NBA with Portland. Former Trail Blazers star Clyde Drexler isn't interested.
The Oregonian put Drexler's name near the top of a list of possible successors to Dunleavy, who was fired on Tuesday. But Drexler told two Houston radio stations that he's only interested in returning to the NBA in a front-office capacity.
"They've played very well the last three years, but it hasn't been enough," Johnson told The Oregonian. "They need to be pushed harder, and I think I know how to get them to the next level, which is a championship."
"If Bob (Whitsitt) calls, I'll definitely take the call," said Johnson.
