As expected, Mav Michael Finley officially opted out of his contract on Tuesday, reports Dwain Price of the Dallas Star-Telegram. He has not made a commitment as to what he will do next. An unlikely possibility is for him to sign with another team. Otherwise, he must decide between a 7-year, $100 million contract and a 1-year, $10.2 million deal so that he can sign a bigger 7-year deal next offseason. Finley's agent, Henry Thomas, says Finley is aware of the danger of a career-ending injury during a 1-year contract.
