The Harris County-Houston Sports Authority and the Houston Rockets came to an agreement in mediation, according to Steve Brewer of the Houston Chronicle. According to the agreement, the Sports Authority's choice of a general contractor to which the Rockets objected, Hunt, will stay. However, the Rockets will have a watchdog to be sure there are no cost overruns. Additionally, Hunt will have to contract the lowest bidding subcontractors or else foot the difference between the lowest subcontractor and the one signed. Because the two sides were able to come to an agreement so quickly, there should be no delay in its construction and opening.
