Jason Kidd held a press conference today. Tomorrow, he may receive a call from the NBA offices.

"Hopefully, I can attract some guys to come here," Kidd said.

When asked who he would like to play with, Kidd wasn't shy.

"I look forward to when Shawn Marion is up because he isn't going to be on Phoenix," Kidd said. "Then there's Antonio McDyess, who's a free agent."

Granted, the earliest McDyess can become a free agent is after the 2002-03 season. Marion cannot become an unrestricted free agent unless he accepts a Qualifying offer from Phoenix and plays out the 2003-04 season. But someone should remind Kidd that there are rules against commenting on contracted players from another team.

I'm sure Kidd's comments just tickled incumbent Net forwards Keith Van Horn and Kenyon Martin...
