The Rockets held a press conference to announce that Taylor has signed his contract for 6 years and $48 million, reports Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. Taylor did not even speak with other teams and is happy to be returning to the fold with a long-term deal. He promises greater things next season. Shandon Anderson is also close to signing, and then we can expect a small free agent purchase (don't expect any of the biggest-name FAs still on the market, says Feigen) before the Rockets use Bird Rights to sign on Moochie Norris and Matt Bullard. Bullard is currently mulling an offer from another team. To sign Taylor, the Rockets renounced their rights to Charles Barkley and to Carlos Rogers, who will have to find another team.
