Can Jordan be traded?
Before dismissing the notion as pure fancy, consider that such a transaction might be in the best interest of the Wizards. Since he was signed September 25, the earliest Jordan could be traded would be December 25, Christmas day. By that time the Wizards will have a pretty good idea of what they have on their hands. Even if he performs well below expectations, the name alone should be enough to bring in some talent. Michael?s marketing value is the equivalent of Mark Cuban chucking around a couple mil to grease the wheels. What cash-conscious team (from L.A.?) wouldn?t mind adding to their roster the most recognizable athlete in the world, who happens to be rather inexpensive? Or what title contending team (from L.A.?) wouldn?t mind gobbling up a spare part on the way to another trophy for some future assets and a couple of bodies? Rumors are already flying that Phil JackZen, as he?s referred to here on DB.com, contacted Jordan about coming back a Laker. Just because it didn?t happen this week doesn?t mean it couldn?t happen later, right?
