The Star Tribune reports that if Gary Trent passes a physical later today, he will sign a one-year contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Trent will play for the six-year veteran's minimum of $715,580.

"All indications are that he's going to get healthy and be a nice find for us," coach Flip Saunders said. "He has the ability to score on the block. He's a strong rebounder. ... He gives us strength, something we don't have."
