Frank Hughes of the Tacoma News Tribune reports: Seattle SuperSonics point guard Shammond Williams is back, signing a multiyear contract with the team Tuesday morning.

Williams, however, doesn't seem overly enamored with the idea, particularly after thinking he would be some team's starting point guard, making at least $4 million a year. Williams' contract is believed to be worth $4 million over two years, but his agent would not comment on the specifics, other than to say it was more than one year. But clearly, Williams is not earning what he thinks he is worth.

Though Williams did not want to get into details, he waited to sign until Tuesday, the first day of training camp, because he was hoping to get a lucrative offer from another team.

Williams' agent, Eric Fleisher, said he had sign-and-trade discussions with Toronto, New York, Miami and Denver, but no deal could be consummated that would satisfy both sides.

And since the Sonics had the right to match any offer up to $4.5 million, Williams never was extended an offer from another team, as he thought he might be.
