Timberwolves point guard Terrell Brandon said Wednesday he has been misunderstood.
Two days after he told reporters he would like to reduce his minutes this season and become a reserve as early as next season, Brandon released a written statement elaborating on his comments. He didn't deny what was reported, but he told reporters after practice: "I want fans to understand . . . the interpretation is totally wrong.
"As I recollect from my contract negotiations, it was my intention to sign a long-term contract because I felt I had six good, solid years of service that I could give the Timberwolves organization," Brandon said in a statement faxed to the Wolves by his agent, Bill Duffy. "That desire has not changed. My singular goal is to provide leadership and consistency to my teammates, and to be a pillar of strength for all of my teammates to lean on."
