Sonics coach Nate McMillan continues to use exhibition games as a classroom for his young players.
Their latest quiz came Monday night. And for three quarters, the youngsters performed quite well, but during the fourth quarter they learned they need to do a little more studying before passing the big test.
The Sonics reserves squandered a 25-point third-quarter lead as the Memphis Grizzlies pulled out a victory, 103-99, at The Pyramid before a crowd of 10,658.
"We have a young group of guys and they're going to have to learn how to play,'" McMillan said. "We have to learn to play in situations like that, and learn how to win the game. This is what the exhibition season is about, giving guys opportunities to play in situations so you will know what you have when the season begins."
