Eddie Jones participated in a full-contact practice Sunday for the first time since he underwent shoulder surgery in May. The appearance raised hope that the veteran shooting guard could be in the starting lineup when the Heat opens its regular season Oct. 31 at home against Toronto.

"You could tell he was feeling good, because he didn't want to pass the ball," center Alonzo Mourning said.

Chimed in forward LaPhonso Ellis, "I second that."

"He wanted to shoot it every time he caught it, which is great," Mourning continued. "We're going to look to him to score. We need big minutes, big points from him. That's fine with me."
