The best view comes from the coach's office. Don Nelson's spacious new thinking room has one solid wall of windows overlooking the team's practice court.

"This way, I can keep an eye on them," Nelson joked.
Down the hall is the loft-style locker room. A large wooden door, like something from the entrance to a medieval castle, separates the two areas.

For the first time since the Mavericks began play in 1980, the team can operate out of a single building. The coaches' offices are next to the locker room, which is upstairs from the practice court, which is all just a short jog from the American Airlines Center's main court.
