With a busy summer schedule after the first breakthrough season of his professional career, some wondered if Baron Davis was wearing himself too thin.

Especially after taking, in essence, only two weeks off from basketball in the past two years.

But Davis says the energy is back and he?s anxious to get his third NBA season under way tonight when the Charlotte Hornets host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 p.m.

"Everybody is just ready for the preseason to be over," said Davis, considered one of the NBA?s top rising stars at point guard. "I know I?m ready."
