Newest Charlotte Hornets player George Lynch is trying his best to be optimistic about a second foot surgery in five months.

To the point of correcting a reporter who asks him what he?s going to do with two months off.

"SIX to eight weeks," Lynch says of the surgery to repair the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot.

However, just as quickly as Lynch is upbeat and positive, his dark humor is revealed when he?s asked about his timetable for return.

"Well, I don?t have one," Lynch says with a smile. "I tried that over the summer and it didn?t work."

Similar frustration will be inescapable for the former University of North Carolina star tonight when the Hornets host the New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m.

Lynch will be on the Charlotte roster and even sitting on the team?s bench.
