Jacque Vaughn and Emanual Davis, the two point guard free agent signings of the Atlanta Hawks offseason, thus far have failed to produce which is disappointing the Hawks to no end. The signings were supposed to allow the dynamic Jason Terry to switch to off-guard on a more permanent basis, a position which he excelled in last season.
However, Vaughn and Davis going into yesterday's win against the Heat were a combined 7-for-33, including 0-for-13 for Vaughn. The thing is with the new defensive rules teams are encouraging the pair to shoot, leaving them open to double or even triple team other players. Until they start making these shots and hurting the opposition teams will continue to leave them open.
Both players can shoot the ball, the Hawks know that, but how long can they let the bleeding continue? Where do the Hawks draw the line, where if you don't hit your shots you sit? Welcome to the new NBA.
