There is a monologue, a hooting studio audience, a DJ and even ?Fly Girls?? dancers. But most of all on ?The Mark Cuban Show,?? there is Mark Cuban.
The only owner in the NBA with his own TV made his debut Saturday at 10 (on KTXA/Channel 21 in Dallas), and the half-hour was clearly designed to appeal to Mavs fans on one level and hep cats on another.
If you wear a soul patch, you?ll love this show. (An interview with the rock group ?Tantric??? Because one of them is from Louisville and so is ex-Mav Samaki Walker? Gawd, I must be getting old!) But even if you don?t speak the language, you?ll like the actual basketball stuff, which was solid ? especially Cuban?s interview with Dirk Nowitzki.
Cuban, who once aspired to be an actor in Hollywood, retains his theatrical style. And if he is trying to prove he can ask questions as smoothly as your average journalist, mission accomplished. His visit with Dirk resulted in the Mavs star discussing his attempts at mastering The Rolling Stones? ?Angie?? and the reason Dirk points a wayward index finger after a big basket.
