Has there been a more depressing time in Charlotte pro sports history?
The Charlotte Hornets sound very serious about moving to Louisville, the land of horses and bourbon. Not only that, the Hornets aren't even playing that well in their lame-duck season here. Charlotte lost its third straight game Thursday night, 105-95 to San Antonio.
Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers are 1-7 and quite possibly the worst team in the NFL. They have had one winning season in team history and might be looking for their third head coach in January.
Check out that attendance for the Hornets' home game Thursday - 9,511. It's not going to be long before each seating of the "Harry Potter" movie outdraws the Hornets.
The Hornets started 2-0, but now are 2-3. They've already held one team meeting. If they continue at the same rate, they'll have 20 of those before the season concludes and they ship out to Kentucky.
