It took double overtime for the Timberwolves to beat the Pacers 120-113 Friday night. It was fitting, since the Wolves had not won in Indiana since 1993.
Minnesota, which battled back from a 12-point deficit in regulation, held Indiana without a field goal until the final 10 seconds of the second five-minute extra period.

Forward Kevin Garnett, who scored four points in the second overtime, led Minnesota with 24 points. Wally Szczerbiak and Terrell Brandon chipped in 22 apiece.

Reserve forward Gary Trent, showing why the Timberwolves took a chance on him even though injuries have hampered him the past two seasons, finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Indiana's Jalen Rose led all scorers with 31 points.

Minnesota, which led by as many as five points in the final four minutes of regulation, trailed 98-97 with 29.3 seconds left after Indiana's Reggie Miller, trapped by Szczerbiak and Joe Smith, threw the ball away. On the ensuing play, Garnett missed a long jumper, but Indiana forward Al Harrington fouled Trent on the rebound.
