But the Nuggets have played as hard as possible, proving nonbelievers wrong. And Monday night, Denver improved to 6-5 with a 99-96 overtime victory over the hot New Jersey Nets at the Pepsi Center.

"Don't nobody care what you all (the media) think," said Nuggets guard Nick Van Exel, who scored a game-high 30 points and hit two key free-throw attempts late in overtime to seal the win. "Who cares? We don't care in this locker room what you all think. You could say we could be the worst team ever. It doesn't matter. We try our hardest to get the job done, and that's what we do."
