Jason Terry and Hawks scout Steve Henson walked out of the practice gym Tuesday afternoon, through the locker room, and into the empty arena where the court is set up for tonight's game with the Knicks.

Terry, who is in a terrible slump, started shooting at random and missing as he has been since last weekend. And then Henson got serious with him: Pass-shoot. Pass-shoot, close to the goal on the baseline, then more toward the corner. Terry would then dart at Henson, a former NBA guard, and pull up in a shooting motion.

They worked so hard for 35 minutes, Terry was panting. He was also smiling for the first time this week.
