According to Paul Ladewski of Daily Southtown, Eddie Robinson reported no improvement in his troublesome left big toe after a rigorous workout Friday. Robinson tested his foot in drills that included jumping and hard cuts, but he reported familiar discomfort one day later.
Robinson will be elegible to return from injury list against Houston Rockets, who will be missing their own key player Steve Francis.
"As a result of that, it's sore right now," said Robinson. "I'll see how it feels (today)."
Team physicians advised against immediate surgery in hopes Robinson's condition would respond to rest, but at the same time they have not ruled out that Robinson is suffering from a stress fracture. Such an injury could sideline Robinson for as long as three months. He was told that such a procedure wouldn't necessarily be the answer.
"They said (surgery) probably wouldn't be the thing to do, either, because it might not cure it," he said. "But it's something they had in mind."
"It feels like it did the first time I came back (last month)," he said. "It was sore the next day and got better with time. It sort of has gone that way now."
