Will the Denver Nuggets be able to give themselves an early Christmas present by saving the Nick Van Exel situation?  The Rocky Mountain News reports that the team will meet with the disgruntled point guard to convince him to back off on his recent trade demand.

But things don't look good from all accounts.  Van Exel went off big time after the Nuggets eighth loss in nine games and said he was sick of the losing.  More ominously, he questioned management's personnel moves and the coaching. "I am tired of this (stuff)," Van Exel said Saturday after Denver's 109-99 loss at Cleveland. "Tired of losing, tired of all these trades being made in four years. I'm tired of everything right now. I think it's time for me to move on somewhere else other than here, because I'm sick of it." Interesting that Coach Dan Issel, the architect of those trades, is away in a "mountain retreat" and new GM Kiki Vanderweghe seems to be the one handling all this.  Hard to imagine Issel having a quiet talk with Van Exel after he said these words. "I ain't learned one new thing about the game of basketball in four years," he said. "Not one thing new."
